JOB DESCRIPTION:

Planning

Strategic tasks to set direction and define goals.

  • Define structural design standards and update them regularly based on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Develop long-term strategies for structural integrity, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Set KPIs for design quality, compliance, and delivery timelines.
  • Plan training programs to upskill design teams on new standards and technologies.
  • Forecast resource needs for upcoming projects and standardization efforts.

Leading

Motivating and guiding teams toward objectives.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to structural engineers and designers.
  • Communicate the importance of standards and their impact on safety and quality.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to align structural goals with architectural, civil, and construction teams.
  • Champion innovation and encourage adoption of new tools and methodologies.

Organizing

Coordinating resources and systems for execution.

  • Structure workflows for design reviews, approvals, and documentation.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities for standard development and compliance monitoring.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and regulatory bodies for code alignment.
  • Implement digital systems for managing design standards and version control.
  • Organize internal audits and peer reviews to ensure consistency.

Controlling

Monitoring performance and ensuring alignment with goals.

  • Review structural designs to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Track KPIs such as design error rates, compliance scores, and review turnaround time.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on design failures or non-compliance incidents.
  • Generate reports on standard adherence and present findings to senior management.
  • Implement corrective actions and update standards based on lessons learned.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably within the real estate construction or consultancy industry.
  • Bachelor Degree, preferably with advance studies/trainings in Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Civil Engineer, preferably affiliated with ASEP or other structural governing organizations.
  • Have manage a team of engineers in design development, peer review to fit a budget, lay out of structural elements, actual execution / implementation, and quality improvement, value engineering including innovation.
  • Quantity estimates of structural elements, research and development of new technologies, materials and methods.
