Python & SQL Database Engineer

Contract Type: Long‑term freelance contract (CDI equivalent)

Salary

For a full-time workload (100 %), the salary ranges between PHP 40,000 – PHP 70,000 per month.

We will start with an hourly contract, pegged to the 100 % range. With a 45 h/week full-time baseline, this equals about PHP 198 – PHP 346 per hour. At an average ~40 % pensum (~18 h/week), that works out to ~PHP 16,000 – PHP 28,000 per month, varying with actual hours. Includes overtime pay. Possibility to transition to 100 % and build your own team in the future.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

:00 – 12:00 CET

:00 – 19:00 CET

Initial ~40 % workload with week-to-week fluctuations and opportunity to grow to 100 %.

Holidays:

• Paid time off on December 24 and 25

• Paid half‑day off on December 31 and January 1

• 5 working days of sick leave or paid time off (PTO)


Key Responsibilities:

·       Convert customer-provided freight tariff files into a standardized structure suitable for SQL database integration.

·       Develop and maintain clear, well-documented Python scripts to transform data from various input formats (e.g., PDF, Excel) into the required output format.

·       Ensure accuracy and consistency in data mapping and transformation processes. The mistake tolerance equals 0.

·       Optimize scripts for full automation where possible, while accommodating necessary manual data integration when required.

·       Deliver output in Excel format, adhering to defined structural and quality standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

·       Proven experience in developing custom Python scripts for data transformation.

·       Proficiency in SQL for database interaction and data integration.

·       Strong skills in Excel, including handling complex datasets.

·       Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with both text and numerical data.

·       Professional proficiency in written English.

·       Comfortable working with spreadsheets and web-based tools.

·       Access to a reliable computer and stable internet connection.
