Job Brief

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsperson or Designer with demonstrated experience in the Oil and Gas sector. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical drafting and design capabilities, particularly in heat transfer and combustion systems. You'll be working on detailed mechanical designs, producing high-quality drawings and documentation to support engineering teams across various projects. Your ability to interpret specifications and deliver accurate, efficient designs will be key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed mechanical designs and engineering drawings for Oil & Gas systems

  • Support engineers in developing layouts, schematics, and fabrication drawings

  • Work on heat transfer and combustion-related design packages

  • Interpret engineering specifications, diagrams, and standards

  • Ensure drawings comply with industry regulations and company procedures

  • Revise and update drawings based on feedback and project changes

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality project outcomes

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a mechanical drafting or design role within the Oil and Gas industry

  • Proven experience with heat transfer and combustion systems

  • Ability to interpret technical documents, engineering specifications, and industry codes

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Software Proficiency

  • Nice to have: Inventor 3D

  • Nice to have: Microsoft Project

Education

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Clear and professional communicator

  • Able to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
