Responsible for maintaining and supporting the hotel's technology infrastructure, including systems critical to operations and guest satisfaction. This includes property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, internet services, audiovisual equipment, and back-office IT support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support hotel technology systems such as:
- Property Management System (PMS) (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds)
- Point of Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Micros, Toast)
- Guest internet/Wi-Fi systems
- Keycard and door lock systems
- IPTV and telephone systems
- Provide first-level technical support to hotel staff and resolve IT-related issues promptly.
- Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of critical hotel systems.
- Monitor and maintain the hotel's Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring strong, stable connectivity for guests.
- Manage backup systems and ensure data security and disaster recovery readiness.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and server hardware and software.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and upgrades.
- Maintain documentation for IT systems, network diagrams, and inventory.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices to protect hotel and guest data.
- Train hotel staff on the use of IT systems and tools.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS for card payments).
- Support AV setups for conferences, events, and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with hotel systems (PMS, POS, guest internet portals, CCTV).
- Strong knowledge of networks (LAN/WAN), servers, and system security.
- Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and during irregular hours when necessary.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Knowledge of hotel PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Protel, Cloudbeds, RoomRaccoon).
- Understanding of VoIP, CCTV, IPTV, and hotel keycard systems.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco (CCNA) are a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms and backup solutions.
Work Conditions:
- Office-based within the hotel premises.
- May require shift work, weekend availability, or emergency on-call support.
