Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tools, and processes that support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and cloud-based deployment. The role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of applications across development, testing, and production environments. The DevOps Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, automate workflows, and uphold best practices in cloud and DevOps methodologies.


Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
  • Manage and support cloud environments, especially Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications using Azure APIM, AKS, and related cloud services.
  • Utilize Akamai for CDN, load balancing, or web performance optimization.
  • Implement infrastructure using private cloud, IaaS, and PaaS models.
CI/CD & Automation
  • Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (GHA) or Jenkins.
  • Automate deployments, testing, and operational workflows.
  • Use scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Python, Perl, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, YAML, and JSON.
  • Ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery best practices are followed.
Systems & Application Operations
  • Manage Linux/UNIX environments and deploy applications following DevOps best practices.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases for system integration and operations.
  • Support application lifecycle from concept to production, taking ownership of features and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, investigate performance bottlenecks, and implement sustainable solutions.
API, Networking & Security
  • Work extensively with RESTful APIs and ensure secure, efficient integrations.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, etc.).
  • Apply best practices for operational security, cloud governance, and infrastructure reliability.
Monitoring, Testing & Process Improvement
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using cloud-native or integrated tools.
  • Perform regular system health checks, capacity planning, and environment maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and adopt DevOps best practices across the organization.
  • Promote automation, standardization, and operational excellence.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with engineering, QA, product, and support teams to ensure seamless deployments.
  • Prepare documentation for systems, automation workflows, and operational processes.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong proficiency with Azure (preferred) or GCP cloud environments.
  • Expertise in Akamai, Azure APIM, AKS, and cloud infrastructure operations.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions (GHA), Jenkins, or similar.
  • Strong background in Linux/UNIX systems and application deployment practices.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to quality and best practices.
