JOB PURPOSE

As a pharmacist, you are entrusted with the safe, precise, and ethical dispensing and distribution of generic medicines. You work within legal and professional standards to ensure the proper supply and use of medications in the pharmacy.

Your role is essential to public health, as you provide expert guidance, prescription medications, and reliable health information to customers. Beyond filling prescriptions, you are also responsible for selling over-the-counter (OTC) medical products and educating patients on their correct usage and administration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process and prepare prescription orders using the computer system
  • Dispense medications and offer appropriate counseling to customers
  • Guide and assist new staff with store operations
  • Manage the ordering and proper storage of medicines to maintain quality and effectiveness
  • Dispense prescriptions accurately, following authorized physician instructions
  • Supervise the packaging, labeling, compounding, measuring, and recording of medications for patient use
  • Evaluate prescriptions for appropriate therapy and correct dosage
  • Educate patients and caregivers about drug interactions, side effects, storage guidelines, and usage instructions
  • Deliver presentations or training on medications to nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff
  • Prepare sterile products, ensuring correct preparation, packaging, and storage based on required standards
  • Support healthcare providers with investigational drugs, including storage, protocols, and administration
  • Supervise and mentor Pharmacy Assistants as needed
  • Engage in or contribute to clinical pharmaceutical research
  • Act as a preceptor or trainer for pharmacy interns
QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
  • Must be a Registered and Licensed Pharmacist
