Senior Tax Manager

Location: Philippines (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Client Industry: Canadian Tax & Accounting Services

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Manager to support a Canadian tax and accounting practice. The ideal candidate will manage the approximately 300 individual tax clients, 100 small business clients, and 10 corporate clients. You will work closely with the business owner, who will focus on client relationships and growth, while you handle the technical tax and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review Canadian individual and corporate tax returns.
  • Manage VAT, GST, and HST filings in compliance with Canadian regulations.
  • Provide full-cycle accounting support, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely filings, accurate documentation, and compliance with Canadian tax laws.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members (if applicable).
  • Collaborate directly with the business owner to improve processes and support growth.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory as needed.
Qualifications
  • CPA or equivalent accountancy and tax certification in the Philippines.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in tax and accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, including VAT, GST, and HST.
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian Income Tax Act, CRA regulations, and ability to handle complex tax situations independently
  • Experience working with Canadian clients is a must.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of 100+ Canadian tax clients across individual and corporate sectors
  • Strong business acumen — entrepreneurial or practice management experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, Google suite of applications, QuickBooks, and tax software
  • Legal right to work in the Philippines and ability to provide services to Canadian clients

Additional Info

  • This position requires you to work night shift to overlap working hours with the US west coast time zone
