JOB DESCRIPTION

SENIOR ART DIRECTOR

A passionate custodian of the brand,
adobo magazine
, and all its properties in the communication sphere. Abide by and build on the
adobo magazine
style guide for the magazine and other brand communications materials, including online properties.

Elevate the quality of the magazine to a world-standard and apply creativity to continue to inspire and excite the discriminating audience of
adobo magazine.

Be part of the Art Team, collaborate with fellow creatives, work closely with the Editorial Department, and report directly to the Editor-in-Chief.

  • Conceptualize, art direct, and layout the necessary visuals and all its extensions with the support of the team.
  • Art direction and layout of special advertorial materials and/or collaterals, as deemed necessary by events and marketing, with the support of the art team.
  • Supervision and continuous training of the art team. Improve and enhance skills in design, craft, art direction, and multimedia channels. Optimize tools and software in publishing and design for a smooth workflow and efficiency.
  • Coordination with the senior editorial staff and the project managers regarding the production schedule.
  • Manage the production schedule to ensure that the deadlines and timelines are met. Pre-plan each project in advance with the assigned senior staff members, in consultation with the Editor and EIC.
  • Supervision and coordination with the suppliers regarding production and delivery of the projects, including, but not limited to:
  • Execution of corrections and adjustments, as deemed necessary by the senior editorial staff.
  • Packaging of files of completed visual outputs.
  • Checking and verification of proofs for color fidelity and accuracy.
  • Delivery of final art.
  • Conceptualization and art direction duties on photography shoots (including, but not limited to:
  • Coordination and direction of photographers, videographers, makeup artists, stylists, illustrators, and talents.
  • The passion for excellence in every execution, with a strong appreciation for multimedia innovation.
