Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the billing department, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement effective billing and collection policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. government and third-party payer regulations.
  • Optimize insurance payer contracts, pricing strategies, and reimbursement rates.
  • Oversee timely claim submissions and manage the aging process to minimize denials.
  • Conduct pre- and post-appointment audits to ensure accurate billing and coding.
  • Handle escalated insurance calls and facilitate claim corrections and refunds.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to collections and accounts receivable.
  • Train and support billing team members, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with on-site teams to resolve billing and insurance-related issues.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of dental billing experience, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Dentrix Ascend, Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana.
  • Strong knowledge of PPO, DMO, DHMO, and NYS Managed Care Programs.
  • Understanding of in-network/out-of-network benefits and fee-for-service models.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of ADA billing guidelines and CDT coding.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage remote teams, and coordinate with U.S.-based staff.
