Job Purpose

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the general ledger in accordance with GAAP for multiple companies. This role involves reconciling accounts, identifying necessary adjustments and accruals, and ensuring an accurate month-end close. The Senior Accountant must be highly detail-oriented, possess strong time management skills, and be capable of multitasking effectively.*

This position plays a critical role in business operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports and analysis while maintaining proper documentation. The Senior Accountant will also serve as a key contributor to the year-end audit process and will handle ad hoc projects as needed by management.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in adhering to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, setting the standard for compliance within the team.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Review critical financial transactions, including journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy in reporting.
  • Facilitate team communication and knowledge sharing, providing insights into accounting principles, software proficiency, and best practices.
  • Support financial audits, assisting with audit preparations and responding to inquiries to ensure smooth audit outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and generate comprehensive reports that provide key insights for management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to optimize financial processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, integrating new knowledge into daily operations.
  • Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing financial expertise to achieve project objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking feedback and championing initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA certification is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or Sage preferred).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls is desirable.
  • Must be detail-oriented, resourceful, and possess excellent time-management skills, capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to take on a leadership role within the team.
  • Must be comfortable engaging directly with clients and delivering exceptional customer service.

Work from Home Requirements (Must have before the start date)

  • Internet Connection : Min of 25mbps internet connection speed AND a backup internet connection (before start date)
  • Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a working computer from home with Dual Monitors
  • Noise Canceling Headset (Plantronics)
  • Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
  • Must be comfortable working with a Monitoring Software (for payroll and timekeeping purposes only)
  • Webcam - Contractors must have a working webcam

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php60,000.00 per month
