Job Description

As a Research Associate for Private Equity Origination, you will analyze industries, evaluate companies, and identify key shareholders to generate quality leads for acquisition opportunities. You'll directly contribute to deal sourcing strategies and support senior leaders in making data-driven investment decisions.

The Qualifications We Seek

• 3-5+ years of experience in corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, or private equity
• Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand business environments
• Proficient in financial analysis (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow)
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Tech-savvy and confident in using databases and AI tools
• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field

Your Daily Tasks

• Conduct industry and company research to identify attractive sectors and acquisition targets
• Build and refine target company lists using public and subscription-based databases
• Research shareholders and management teams to identify key decision-makers
• Prepare tailored outreach drafts and presentations for senior review
• Track engagement and maintain accurate records of origination activities
• Support process improvements using AI and database tools (e.g., ChatGPT)
