The job role of an HVAC Assistant Team Leader involves the following duties:

  • Coordinate with service team members and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in the heating/air conditioning system for the purpose of system repair and/or replacement needs.
  • Fabricate equipment parts for the purpose of specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
  • Inform team members regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Inspect HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, air conditioning units, etc.) to evaluate the condition, identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance.
  • Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems while providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools and equipment to ensure a safe operating condition.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned to convey and gather information required to perform job functions.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance as needed to ensure the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, quote forms, inspection reports, etc.) for documentation purposes.
  • Repair heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) to customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • With work experience for 2-3 years
  • CAN START ASAP
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability, and cost of materials
  • Intermediate computer and software skills including the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet, and electronic presentation programs
  • Technical knowledge in design, sizing, and selection of HVAC systems including, but not limited to air handling, refrigeration, and ventilation systems
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment and the ability to properly apply this equipment to various application.
