Position: Senior HSE Specialist (Permanent)

Location: Ivory Coast (West Africa)

About the Role

The Senior HSE Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across laboratory operations. This role ensures compliance with international HSE standards while embedding a culture of safety, sustainability, and risk management. The HSE Specialist will be key to maintaining safe laboratory practices while supporting corporate responsibility commitments in West Africa.

Top 5 Must-Haves

  • Strong knowledge of HSE management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience implementing HSE programs in laboratories, chemical plants, or industrial environments.
  • Expertise in risk assessments, safety audits, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs for staff.
  • Strong command of English for documentation, reporting, and cross-border communication.

Top 3 Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation standards and their implications for safety and compliance.
  • Experience in an independent contract/third-party laboratory environment or with multinational clients.
  • Ability to converse in French is an advantage.
