As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for analytical and operational purposes.

Your expertise will help shape the future of data architecture and data processing at Manulife IT Delivery Center Asia. We are looking for someone with:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role

Experience with data engineering projects integrating data between multiple data sources & targets using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hubs, etc.Good knowledge of SQL, Python, Spark, and Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions.Data Structured design, or Data SolutioningExperience with big data tools such as ADLS, Data Factory, Azure Synapse / SQL, Azure Databricks, etc.Experience integrating with vendor applications

Experience working on Agile projects is an advantage.Experience on Azure Cloud and/or other Cloud platforms.Ability to interpret and translate terminology between technical and business users

Collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse teams across Asia and globally.Self-sufficient and self-motivated

On the job you will:Lead/Support discovery sessions to collect business requirements from business owner, business user, product owner, etc.Gather, analyse, prioritize business needs, and translate user needs into various formats including:Data mapping

Use cases

Process maps

Support other key functions: integration & user acceptance testing, training, implementation, hyper care

Contribute to standardization of testing, validation, acceptance, and monitoring processes for greater user confidence.Collaborate with team leads within ADO to ensure standards are met.Implement ETL/ELT flows via Big Data Solutions i.e.Monitor performance and advise necessary infrastructure changes or performance tuning in codes.Attend to incidents and change requests

Write and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

Perform unit tests and system integration tests
