We are a forward-thinking, data-driven organization looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in shaping our data infrastructure and strategy, ensuring that our data is a reliable asset for decision-making across the business. The Senior Data Engineer will take ownership of our data pipeline and elevate it to the next level. The ideal candidate will be responsible for re-architecting and rebuilding our data infrastructure to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. This role involves migrating our current data pipeline from Hevo to a more robust, AWS-native solution, and transitioning our business intelligence platform from Periscope to Tableau.

Key responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Architecture and Development: Lead the design, build, and maintenance of a scalable and reliable data pipeline using AWS services such as AWS Glue.
• ETL/ELT Processes: Develop and implement robust ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from various sources including RDS Aurora, DynamoDB, Segment, and Google Ads, ensuring data is accurately transformed and loaded into our AWS Redshift data warehouse.
• Data Quality and Integrity: Implement data quality checks and validation to ensure the accuracy and trustworthiness of our data. Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies.
• BI and Reporting: Work with stakeholders to migrate existing reports and dashboards from Periscope to Tableau, and develop new, insightful reports.
• System Migration: Lead the migration from our current Hevo-based pipeline to an AWS-native solution, and from Periscope to Tableau.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide them with high-quality data.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of leading complex data projects.
• AWS Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise with AWS data services, particularly AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and IAM.
• ETL/ELT: Expert-level proficiency in designing, building, and optimizing complex ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Programming: Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Java.
• Data Warehousing: Extensive experience with data warehousing solutions, preferably AWS Redshift, including performance tuning and optimization.
• System Design: Strong skills in data architecture, data modeling, and system design.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
• BI Tools: Significant experience with BI and data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
• Data Modeling: Advanced experience with data modeling and database design.
• Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Spark or Kafka is a plus.
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK) is highly desirable.
