SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

TYPE: FULL TIME, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

SHIFT: NIGHT / GRAVEYARD PHT

Time allocation

• 80% technical: Azure data pipelines, DW modeling, Power BI report development, Power Automate/Logic Apps/Power Automate for Desktop (unattended), integration monitoring & break/fix.
• 20% BA/PM/solutioning: requirements, design docs, stakeholder updates, success metrics.

What you'll own

• Build and operate data flows across ADF/Synapse/Fabric/OneLake → Azure SQL DW → Power BI with SLAs, alerts, retries, and observability.
• Power BI: datasets/semantic models, DAX, production-quality reports (IT system performance, helpdesk metrics, budget vs actual, department KPIs), RLS, incremental refresh, performance tuning.
• Automation: design, implement, and support Power Automate (cloud), Logic Apps, and Power Automate for Desktop (unattended) workflows with robust error handling, credential/secret hygiene, monitoring, and change control.
• Monitoring & reliability: proactive health checks for Yardi SQL, Salesforce, and internal C# app integrations; incident response and sustained reduction in failure rates.
• Solution design & problem solving: translate business goals into models, processes, and dashboards; quantify efficiency and accuracy gains.

Must-have experience

• 10+ years Microsoft SQL Server & data warehousing (T-SQL, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS Tabular, schema design, security/permissions, performance).
• 3+ years Azure data stack (ADF/Data Flows; Azure SQL/Synapse; Fabric/OneLake a plus).
• 4+ years Power BI end-to-end (star schema modeling, DAX, RLS, performance analyzer; portfolio/sample PBIX required).
• 3+ years Power Automate (cloud) and/or Logic Apps, plus Power Automate for Desktop (unattended) in production (exception paths, retries, scheduling, governance).
• APIs & web services: REST/SOAP, auth patterns, pagination & throttling, JSON/XML, XML Schema, error handling & schema evolution.
• Git/GitHub for version control and reviews (branching, PRs, release tagging).
• Security & governance: role-based access, least privilege, secrets management, secure coding practices, and data privacy by design.
• Accounting fundamentals: accrual vs cash, debits/credits, GL vs subledger, revenue/expense recognition basics.
• Communication: strong English; gathers requirements, proposes designs, gives clear status/risks.
• Mindset: demonstrably excellent problem solver who enjoys figuring things out and building tech solutions that matter.

Nice-to-haves (innovation accelerators)

• Machine Learning for pattern discovery & optimization (e.g., tenant turnover drivers, rent optimization, anomaly detection, forecasting).
• Python (we don't run it today; valued for unlocking more efficient/scalable ETL/automation/AI agent solutions).
• C#/.NET (WinForms or Web) for internal tools and integrations.
• Salesforce APEX/Flows; Fabric/OneLake experience.

90-day success (unchanged focus, tuned for automation/reporting)

• 30d: document lineage & SLAs; own daily health checks; stabilize one flaky integration (MTTR ↓).
• 60d: ship a new ADF pipeline; publish two production-grade Power BI reports (IT system performance & Helpdesk) with RLS and incremental refresh.
• 90d: central monitoring/alerting for key workflows; reduce incident volume ≥40% on a targeted flow; deliver one Power Automate for Desktop (unattended) improvement that cuts manual effort.

Home Office Requirements:

• Internet Connection : Must be 25 mbps at the least, preferably wired connection with PLDT, Cable connection is fine if it's more than 5mbps. We DO NOT accept plug-in, wi-fi or wimax.
• Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a good working computer.
• Headsets : The Contractor must have a noise cancelling headsets preferably Plantronics Blackwire C320M headsets. Assessment will be done during test calls.
• Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
• Web Cam - for meeting purposes
• Must be comfortable in working with Time Doctor/Screenshot Monitor
