Financial Accountant (Onsite)

Job Description:

Leadership & Management of Admin Staff:

• Supervise, mentor, and guide a small Admin/Clerical Team to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
• Maintain, update, and enforce administrative policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with company standards.

Accounting & Financial Operations:

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of trial balances for multiple entities.
• Support the administration of the company's Trade Finance facility, including document preparation and updating summary sheets.
• Prepare and lodge ATO reports including BAS and PAYG remittances.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions accurately and efficiently.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required by the National Finance Manager.

Compliance & Systems:

• Ensure compliance with GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, and other relevant tax regulations.
• Work within ERP systems (currently Pentana DMS) and other accounting tools to maintain accurate records.
• Maintain financial documentation and processes in alignment with internal policies and statutory requirements.

Collaboration & Support:

• Work closely with the National Finance Manager to implement action items and improvement initiatives.
• Assist in cross-functional projects and support other finance team members across Australia.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience in Australian Accounting or experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
• Hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Pentana DMS is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiar with SharePoint/Teams.
• Solid understanding of GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, and other statutory compliance requirements.
• Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams.
