  2. Graduate of Agricultural Engineering or any related course, preferably a  board passer.

  3. Preferably with (3 to 5) years relevant experience in the agriculture/food production industry.

  4. Extensive experience in a farming-related field.

  5. JOB SUMMARY

Farm Manager is involved in overseeing multiple farm sites with ongoing harvesting operations. He/She implements strategies for maximum yield, and organises farm administration. He/She is responsible for managing farm equipment supply, overall budget activities, on-field staff, and administrating the farm activities. He/She is also responsible for client acquisition and maintenance.

  1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  2. Directs and coordinates worker activities such as harvesting schedule and orientation

  3. Hire, train, or supervise workers engaged in the harvesting operations
  4. Determines workforce requirements, enforces safety regulations, and interprets policies.
  5. Plans harvesting activities based on factors such as weather conditions or non-working holidays
  6. Inspects all fields regularly to ensure that workers are meeting their targets
  7. Ensuring that the business is profitable and meeting the projected revenue targets
  8. Actively send updates to the Management and Immediate Head for the current status of the harvesting operations in each field
  9. Ensures that expenses are still within the budget
  10. Safekeeps documents and administrative records of the department
  11. Sources for new clients and establishes good relationships with current and potential clients
  12. Acts as the point of contact of the clients and ensures that  inquiries are answered promptly
  13. Recommends process improvements and coordinates with the QEG Team for the documentation
  14. Responsible for minimizing operational and overhead costs.
  15. Inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning; ordering repair or maintenance activities, as needed.
  16. Applies health and safety standards across the farm estate.
  17. Demonstrates or explains working techniques, practices, or safety regulations to farm workers.
  18. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Managing Director/CEO/Head Office from time to time.
  19. He/she may be assigned to a different yard/office if/when  the need arises.
  20. There will be work on Saturday.
  21. Complies with the Master Operating Procedures (MOPs) at all times.
  22. Read/ Understand and be aware of all MOPs and Work Instructions which are available online in the Library of MOP's in your department, so that you are able to comply with  best practice.
  23. Performs other tasks as may be required and as deemed necessary by the  immediate superior.
