Their duties include preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, washing dishes, and ensuring the kitchen is kept tidy. They also help with inventory management, stocking supplies, and may be involved in unloading deliveries.

Key Responsibilities of Kitchen Staff:

  • Food Preparation:
  • Chopping vegetables, slicing meat, and measuring ingredients.
  • Assisting with cooking by following recipes and instructions.
  • Plating food items according to established standards.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness:
  • Washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
  • Sanitizing work surfaces and keeping the kitchen tidy.
  • Disposing of waste properly.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene:
  • Ensuring food is stored and handled correctly to prevent contamination.
  • Following proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Assisting with receiving and storing food and supplies.
  • Monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Collaboration:
  • Working with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicating effectively to coordinate tasks and ensure timely service.
  • Other Tasks:
  • Assisting with unloading deliveries.
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • May be involved in menu planning and developing new recipes.
