Seeking an AU Junior Accounting to support operations through recording and reconciling financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable; managing invoices, receipts, and expenses reports promptly, assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring correct GL coding for all invoices, conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow; maintaining accurate records of fixed assets and depreciation, assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Providing support during audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and assisting with the creation of payroll for employees. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent initiative, precision, and the ability to work independently while managing sensitive information and multiple priorities. This role is critical for enabling smooth executive operations and supporting strategic goals through high-quality support and organization.

What You'll Do 

  • Process purchase invoices
  • Obtain approval from all relevant managers on purchase invoices
  • Ensure correct GL coding for all invoices
  • Create new suppliers in the systems with complete and correct details
  • Keep the supplier list updated in all systems
  • Assist in managing direct debit standing orders
  • Prepare the month-end payment list
  • Assist in managing the Preferred Supplier List
  • Categorize suppliers
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Produce periodical and ad-hoc reporting
  • Respond to accounts-related queries via emails and phone calls
  • Send customer statements
  • Credit management – Update alerts on customer status in MYOB & WL
  • Assist in debt collection
  • Complete documentation for trade reference requests
  • Ad-hoc reporting
  • NAB Saving and Operating Accounts
  • NAB Visa Cards and AMEX
Requirements
What You Bring 
We're looking for someone who: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
