Training and Coaching:

  • Partnering with Accounting Team Leaders to gain a deep understanding of their teams' learning requirements and creating solutions to bridge capability gaps
  • Develop a training strategy to support and enhance the company coaching and performance management frameworks to drive individual, team and overall business performance
  • Develop training materials and facilitate training sessions
  • Assist new starters in getting up-to-speed on tools, processes, procedures, and tax knowledge.
  • Actioning requests of support from Team Leaders for staff members who are underperforming or new staff that have a longer than expected learning curve. Diagnose root causes for the gaps in technical knowledge and capability. Design and deliver a personalized training plan that gets staff back on track
  • Design and implement key metrics and reporting to measure effectiveness, success and impacts of training and coaching implementation

Special Projects:

  • Supporting new business development proposals by meeting with clients to understand their needs, supporting any new client preliminary trials and explaining the service we offer
  • Contributing to the overall performance of the business by initiating and delivering projects that benefit our operations
  • Spend time learning deeply about the needs of the client, then recommend and implement process improvements that solve problems or save time for our clients, staff or save

Other:

  • Provide inputs into new staff job descriptions, key performance indicators (KPIs) for tax/accounting roles
  • Co-interview with the Team Leaders to assess tax/accounting candidate competencies for the role
  • Driving high performance culture and positive working environment
  • Other duties as required

We'd like you to know how to do the following things, so that you can be a great support to our tax and accounting teams:

  • Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and corporate entities in accordance with Australian taxation rules
  • Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS's) and installment activity statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies;
  • Accounting; including financial reporting, management reporting, entry data and journal entries into accounting systems (eg Xero)
  • Analysing financial information
  • Preparing GST, CGT calculations and tax reconciliations at the end of the financial year to ensure clients pay the correct tax
  • Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations and salary packaging reviews
  • Payroll
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on current relevant Australian Tax Office (ATO) legislation and issuances, and Australian Accounting Standards.
