About the role:

The Accountant is generally responsible for maintaining and updating the Company's book of accounts. The position provides full accounting of the client's business entities under its management, which includes analysis and recording of business transactions, accounts reconciliation, client-required reports, and assistance in the preparation of statutory financial statements.

Responsibilities/Functions:

  • The employee will do General Accounting of assigned companies.
  • Maintains and monitors the schedules of subsidiary accounts.
  • Responsible to perform financial functions related to the collection, recording, analysis and presentation of the admin and private companies' financial operations.
  • Prime responsibility is to assist and facilitate in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly, quarterly and annual closing schedules.
  • Responsible for invoicing relevant legal entities and for recording revenues and collection posting as per assigned entities and book of accounts.
  • Responsible for posting of financial invoices as per assigned entities.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders (Group Finance, Treasury & Risk, Operations) on accounting matters such as but not limited to: month end accruals, business service agreements, intercompany billings and settlements.
  • Provide reports as per the requirements of the client and/or other concerned parties and ensure adherence to the client's accounting reporting policies and procedures.
  • Performs balance sheet accounts reconciliation, account clearing (vendor, customer and balance sheet items), verification and resolving discrepancies/open items (GL & SL).
  • Performs review of financial accounts to ensure correct transaction coding and accounting treatment; performs analytical review on the figures for accuracy.
  • Asset Management --- Ensure the correct value of fixed asset and keep an up-to-date fixed asset register to ensure good asset management.
  • Ensures all accounting treatment, processes and workflows comply with the accounting standards and company policies; review to maintain a robust accounting process.
  • Maintains and keep supporting documents in digital form, properly filed at all times.
  • Supports internal reporting requirements for management and statutory compliance.
  • Initiates and participates in various improvement projects.
  • Comply with KSSI administration policies and guidelines in performance of work assignments.
  • Perform other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time that are necessary for service efficiency to the Client and in pursuit of work integrity and reliability.
  • Assists the Team Leader and Finance Manager from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • 2 to 3 years' work experience as Accountant.
  • Analytical with keen attention to details and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and has a sense of priority.
  • Basic judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge in using SAP or related high end financial reporting tool.
  • Work flexible, analytical and a contributor to the team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral English communication skills.
  • Good work ethics with strong internal customer focus.
  • Matured and have a developed cross-cultural mind set.
  • Experience in related industry (Shipping industry) is an advantage.
