Senior SAP Functional Consultant

The Opportunity

• Primary responsibility is to design and configure the relevant SAP modules and gain acceptance from the customer.
• Carries out work with levels of complexity requiring in-depth knowledge of a variety of SAP relevant IT technologies and environments, contributing in the implementation of a customer solution.
• Produces quality work and documentation within areas of specialisation through the use of systematic, structured and analytical approaches to the analysis, design, configuration and testing activities to contribute to the implementation or support of the customer solution.
• Can cope with system design, especially within areas of specialisation and in a variety of contexts to contribute to the successful delivery of the customer solution.
• Can cope with and produces system configurations and customisations.
• Can manage significant packets of work or problems.
• Makes a significant contribution to the analysis of user requirements and/or the design of the system in medium to large-sized systems.
• Responsible for customising and testing modules.
• Participates in defining the design of projects and enhancements.
• Responsible for the analysis of user requirements of change requests.
• Is responsible for designing and testing of modifications and enhancement.
• May be responsible for the preparation and delivery of end-user training and providing end-user support.
• May supervise - with a project team - junior colleagues to make sure work is undertaken effectively and efficiently.
• Is able to work to plan and schedule, and monitors own work, and more junior team member's work. Escalating problems and queries to higher levels to ensure project timescales and client relationships are maintained and that the delivery of the requisite customer solution stays on track.
• Communicates fluently orally and in writing and presents complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences to provide a common understanding of a specific topic.
• Carries out work under the direction of senior staff to prepare the technical content of customer proposals and bids. Answers customer questions and queries escalating any as appropriate.
• Understands and practices management of client expectations and problem ownership/ escalation; knows when and how to address them
• Can identify and report potential opportunities related to projects for specific clients.
• Can assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations to clients and is becoming familiar with the bid management and review processes.
• Influences both technical peers and customers at a technical level and within own sphere of specialisation.
• Works as a member of a team helping uncover, understand and document the customer's requirements to ensure that the scope of any solution is complete and meets customer needs.
• Specifies and documents the requirements of the customer solution to provide a foundation for subsequent system design, specification and coding activities of the customer solution.
• Takes responsibility for area of specialisation and impacts on the wider customer solution.
• Sets priorities appropriately, ensures that work outputs are timely and of the highest quality.

Desired Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience as an SAP Functional Consultant.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant SAP Materials Management / Logistics / Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA application suite (OnPrem or Private Edition).
• SAP MM (Procure to Pay, Workflow and Planning) experience as a user and consultant
• Has relevant experience with SD, Inbound/Outbound Logistics, PP, PM, EWM
• Has experience with S/4 HANA (including transition from ECC to S4 HANA)
• SAP Fiori apps, 3rd Party System Integration, IDoc Processing, Workflow in Procure to Pay, MRP/Planning
• Has 5 full cycle implementation project experience
• Strong communication skills - written and verbal
• Ability to work independently, meaning ability to plan and schedule their own work.
