The
Financial Controller

collaborates with internal teams and clients to develop and implement accounting strategies that enhance financial accuracy and compliance. Working closely with department leaders and stakeholders, the accountant analyzes financial data and business operations to support audit, tax, and advisory initiatives. This role focuses on optimizing resource allocation, improving financial reporting, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements to advance the organization's strategic and financial objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting:

Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Budget Preparation and Oversight:

Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the hospital's annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
- Audit Coordination:

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely availability of accurate financial data and documentation.
- Cost Analysis and Control:

Analyze hospital costs and recommend efficiency improvements to control expenditures while maintaining quality care.
- Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to healthcare finance regulations, such as those from the IRS, Medicare/Medicaid, and other governing bodies.
- Supervision and Mentoring:

Supervise junior accounting staff and provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Grant and Fund Management:

Monitor restricted funds and grants to ensure they are used in accordance with donor or grantor guidelines.
- Strategic Financial Planning:

Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial strategies to support hospital growth and sustainability.
- Notable experience in Auditing Financial Statements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Minimum of 4 and more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or hospital finance.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, healthcare financial regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and hospital financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities, especially in mentoring junior staff and coordinating with other departments.
