Technical Leadership & Infrastructure Management:

Architect, deploy, and optimize Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments (Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams). Lead cloud adoption, modernization, security, and infrastructure projects on time and budget. Develop IT policies and serve as the top escalation for complex issues.

Migrations & Backups:

Lead complex cloud migrations (on-prem to Azure, tenant-to-tenant, email). Design and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies for Microsoft 365 and Azure workloads.

Vendor Management:

Manage vendor relationships, evaluate performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure SLAs are met.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and guide junior admins, delegate tasks, and promote collaboration.

Security & Compliance:

Implement security best practices across Microsoft 365 and Azure. Lead incident response and ensure regulatory compliance.

Automation & Optimization:

Develop PowerShell and Azure automation scripts to improve efficiency and optimize environments for cost and performance.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate on infrastructure roadmaps, research new tech, and manage capacity and budgeting.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a System Administration role, with at least 2 years in a senior or team lead capacity.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing and supporting Microsoft Azure (IaaS & PaaS) and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Proven Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience, managing multiple client tenants simultaneously.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Demonstrable experience leading large-scale migration projects (email, data, workloads).
  • Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administration and automation of Microsoft cloud services.
  • In-depth understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Desirable:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) or equivalent.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Azure Backup).
  • Managed Service Provider (MSP) operational experience
  • Experience with HaloPSA and NinjaOne
