Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Management & Operations:

  • Design, deploy, manage, and maintain both physical (on-premise) and virtual (cloud-based) server, storage, and networking hardware.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues across the entire infrastructure, ensuring high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) preparedness.
  • Manage virtualization platforms, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and core services (DNS, DHCP, Email, Identity Management).

2. Network & Security Expertise:

  • Google Network & Cloud Focus: Manage, configure, and optimize networking resources within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including VPCs, Load Balancers, Cloud Interconnect, and Firewall rules.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across all infrastructure layers (network, hardware, OS, and application access).
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing simulations.
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, VPNs, and corporate firewalls.

3. Software & Automation:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or similar platforms to ensure repeatable and scalable deployments.
  • Script and automate routine operational tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage software tools for monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Stackdriver), logging (e.g., Elastic Stack, Cloud Logging), and configuration management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in an Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or DevOps role.
  • Proven expertise in managing enterprise-level hardware (servers, networking gear, storage arrays).
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and firewall configuration.
  • Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking and services is mandatory.
  • Solid experience with security principles, vulnerability management, and common security tools.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash) and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Network Engineer, CompTIA Security+, CISSP).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures and microservices.
