Job Summary

The Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and smooth coordination with our parent company in Japan. The ideal candidate is hands-on, meticulous, and capable of both managing and executing accounting tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Perform comprehensive bookkeeping and prepare journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Handle monthly and annual financial closing activities in accordance with PFRS and IFRS standards.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and cash flow summaries to support business decisions.

Taxation and Compliance

  • Oversee all tax filings, including monthly, interim, and annual submissions to ensure full compliance with BIR regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and compliance reviews.
  • Prepare necessary schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audit purposes.

Payroll and Disbursement

  • Manage payroll processing through Sprout, ensuring timely and accurate computation of salaries, benefits, and government contributions.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring proper documentation and timely settlements.
  • Process bank transactions, reconciliations, and fund transfers accurately and efficiently.

Operational Accounting Support

  • Prepare and issue invoices to clients and partners as required.
  • Monitor and analyze account balances to ensure data integrity and proper cash flow management.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for process improvements and cost efficiency.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Aiful Finance Philippines and the parent company in Japan for all financial and reporting matters.
  • Provide regular financial updates, ensuring alignment with group standards and reporting timelines.
  • Participate in strategic discussions related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy or a related field.
  • CPA license is a strong advantage.
  • At least 7 years of solid experience in accounting, finance, or audit — preferably in a financial institution or multinational environment.
  • Proven experience working in a Japanese subsidiary or branch is highly desirable.
  • Previous employment with companies related with non-bank financial services industry, focusing on consumer lending, vehicle financing, and SME loans. will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of PFRS and IFRS.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and accounting systems; experience with Sprout and ERP software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, especially in dealing with Japanese stakeholders.
  • Must be hands-on, proactive, and capable of working independently while managing a small accounting team.
