Job Summary:

Responsible for translating/transcribing written and spoken content from Chinese Mandarin to English to Filipino and vice versa while ensuring accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and clarity. The translator must possess excellent linguistic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to convey meaning effectively across languages.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Translate documents, reports, and other written materials from Chinese Mandarin to English to Filipino and Filipino to English to Chinese Mandarin.
  2. Provide accurate and fluent interpretations for meetings, conferences, and conversations.
  3. Ensure translated content maintains its original meaning, style, and tone.
  4. Review and proofread translated materials for grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
  5. Work directly with the Assistant General Manager to provide the accurate communication with the team.
  6. Work closely with different departments to facilitate communication.
  7. Adapt translations based on cultural context to ensure clarity and appropriateness.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Language, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  2. Proven experience as a Chinese Mandarin Translator or Interpreter.
  3. Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese Mandarin and English. Can speak Filipino is an advantage.
  4. Strong knowledge of cultural nuances and linguistic subtleties.
  5. Excellent proofreading skills with attention to grammar and details.
  6. Familiarity with translation software and tools is a plus.
  7. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience inbusiness translation, preferred but not required
  2. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
  3. Willing to travel
