The Chief Engineer leads the vessel's engineering operations with a strong focus on managing the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained according to manufacturer standards and maritime regulations. The role provides technical guidance, supports maintenance planning, monitors regulatory compliance, coordinates with marine and technical teams, and oversees the continuous improvement of vessel machinery performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the PMS database for managed vessels, ensuring maintenance schedules align with manufacturer manuals and regulations.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance tasks to optimize vessel machinery performance.
  • Provide technical support and training to vessel teams on PMS use.
  • Monitor industry updates, class, flag, and maritime regulations affecting PMS.
  • Coordinate with ISM for necessary SMS adjustments.
  • Generate PMS reports, statistics, and analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with technical superintendents on requisitioning technical components and services

Requirements:

  • Graduate of marine or mechanical engineering
  • Maritime Technical related work background
  • Minimum 5 years maritime technical experience, including at least 2 years with Preventive Maintenance Systems (PMS)
  • With Project management and Leadership skills
  • Physically fit to onboard vessel
  • Strong technical analysis, PMS knowledge, MS Office proficiency, and budget management
  • Team player

Pay: Php40, Php50,000.00 per month
