Air Conditioning Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and dependable HVAC Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. The successful candidate should possess strong technical expertise in HVAC operations, a solid understanding of safety and performance standards, and the ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently. A proactive work attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems, including split-type, window-type, and central AC units

– Carry out professional installation of different types of air conditioning units, ensuring proper placement and connections, as well as performing thorough inspections and repair works to guarantee efficient operation and customer satisfaction.

• Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and diagnose malfunctions

– Identify technical problems by running tests, checking system performance, and using diagnostic tools to determine the root cause of malfunctions, ensuring timely and accurate repair solutions.

• Replace or repair defective components, such as compressors, motors, fans, and thermostats

– Handle replacement or repair of critical parts, making sure that components such as compressors, motors, and fans function properly to maintain reliable cooling and heating performance.

• Perform regular preventive maintenance on AC systems

– Conduct scheduled maintenance checks, including cleaning filters, coils, and drain lines, lubricating parts, and checking system efficiency to prolong the lifespan of AC units and reduce unexpected breakdowns.

• Recharge cooling systems with refrigerants and ensure proper pressure and temperature control

– Safely manage refrigerant levels by recharging and monitoring pressure systems to meet manufacturer's standards, while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations on refrigerant handling.

• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

– Use technical documents and diagrams to accurately follow installation and repair procedures, ensuring all works are in line with engineering designs and equipment specifications.

• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards

– Follow occupational safety rules and company protocols during all tasks, making sure that both technicians and clients are safe from hazards while maintaining the quality of work delivered.

• Provide accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance

– Record detailed service reports including repairs conducted, spare parts replaced, and advice on necessary follow-up maintenance to keep systems functioning efficiently.

• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies

– Act quickly and effectively in handling urgent service requests, ensuring minimal downtime and comfort for clients by addressing issues as soon as possible.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

– Regularly inspect, clean, and calibrate tools and instruments used in AC repair and maintenance, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in every service performed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or technical/vocational certification in air conditioning or refrigeration
• Proven experience as an Aircon Technician or HVAC Technician
• Solid understanding of electrical systems and HVAC principles
• Valid driver's license (if travel is required for the role)
• EPA certification or equivalent (optional, depending on region)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
