Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for undertaking the preparation of CSRS 4200, Compilation Engagement Reports (CERs) and corporate tax returns and trusts, including review and analysis of financial statements and taxation requirements. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, year-end financial information preparation and will be an asset to the Accounting team. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The position requires you to report to the Senior Client Manager and Production Manager.
  • Your major role is to process and complete annual financial statements and prepare income tax returns.
  • You will work with your Senior Client Manager and Production Manager, as they will help train you in technical knowledge through review of your work.
  • From time to time you may be asked to review and check less qualified and experienced team members work and this could include bookkeeping, accounting or tax work.

Experience and Skills

  • The successful applicant needs a very high level of technical knowledge and an ability to apply it to compiliation engagements and corporate tax returns.
  • High attention to detail is a must.
  • Use of the following software:
    • Caseware Cloud,
    • Xero Accounting (90% of clients are on Xero),
    • CCH iFirm,
    • Microsoft products,
    • QuickBooks,
    • Karbon.
  • Detailed technical knowledge requirements:
    • Familiar with the Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements,
    • GST / HST, and PST filings,
    • Understanding of Canadian corporate tax.

Availability and Compensation

  • Work will be remote,
  • Immediate start,
  • Hours of work will be between 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Philippine Time,
  • This will be a full-time position.
