Position Summary
This hybrid role supports the Accounting department while assisting in inventory planning and control. Responsibilities span from processing financial transactions and preparing reports to maintaining accurate inventory data, tracking stock levels, and coordinating with vendors. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing numbers and materials.
Responsibilities
Accounting Functions
- Process and record financial transactions (AP/AR)
- Prepare and send client invoices
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow-ups
- Reconcile financial statements and accounts
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Update and maintain accounting ledgers and databases
- Assist with preparing financial reports and statements
- Support audits by collecting relevant documentation
- Manage expense reports and reimbursement processing
- Assist in payroll processing when required
- Handle client/vendor correspondence and organize financial documents
Inventory Planning Functions
- Monitor stock levels and reorder points to avoid shortages
- Maintain updated inventory records and coordinate adjustments
- Work with procurement and vendors to ensure timely supply and restocking
- Generate inventory reports to identify trends and suggest optimization
- Collaborate with operations to align inventory needs with project demand
- Track incoming and outgoing goods with accuracy
- Assist in implementing inventory forecasting models using historical data
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with records
- Support cost analysis related to inventory and stock movement
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Prior involvement in inventory tracking or stock analysis is a plus
- Proficiency in basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with data entry and inventory systems
- Strong organizational and analytical thinking
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage confidential information and multitask effectively
- Understanding of US GAAP and experience with US taxation
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
- Experience with inventory planning tools or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Zoho Inventory)
