I. Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Fills prescriptions and dispenses pharmaceutical products.

  2. Compounds medications not commercially available.

  3. Labels all medicine containers issued to various hospital services.

  4. Checks manufacture and expiration dates of drug products.

  5. Checks label of medicines in accordance with FDA labelling requirements.

  6. Records issuances of medicines in the stock cards and accomplishes issue to report forms after

every shift.

  1. Files and maintains prescriptions

  2. Notifies physicians on any therapeutic incompatibilities, potential drug interactions and

duplicate prescriptions.

  1. Ensures that the right patient takes the right drug and right dosage at the right time.

  2. Conducts daily/ weekly/ monthly inventory of medicines and supplies.

  3. Prepares, checks and signs charge slips issued to patients.

  4. Participate in research activities.

  5. Attends scientific seminar workshops/ consultative meetings and continuing education on

drug related matters and hospital pharmacy practices.

  1. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program of the Pharmacy Service.

  2. Performs other related functions as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
