The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports business decisions by providing timely and reliable financial data. This role is critical in maintaining compliance, managing store-level financial processes, and supporting the dynamic needs of a retail and lifestyle business.

Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting activities including AP, AR, GL entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review journal entries, account schedules, and supporting documents for completeness and compliance.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition, inventory costing, and expense booking aligned with retail operations.

2. Inventory & Store Accounting

  • Monitor inventory transactions, shrinkage, stock transfers, and cycle count variances.
  • Coordinate with store operations for accurate sales reporting, POS reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Validate store liquidation reports, petty cash, and store fund reimbursements.

3. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
  • Implement process improvements to strengthen controls and reduce errors.

4. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff; review work quality and provide coaching.
  • Set timelines, manage workload distribution, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, Procurement, Warehouse).

5. Budgeting & Analysis

  • Support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Analyze trends in expenses, sales performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Provide insights to management for decision-making, cost control, and profitability improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in Retail, FMCG, or Lifestyle brands.
  • Supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting and retail transaction flows.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
