Job summary

Supervise and coordinate day-to-day Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) accounting operations, focusing on trade payables and related financial obligations. Ensure accurate, timely recording and reconciliation of supplier accounts, correct tax treatment (input VAT, withholding tax), strong internal controls, and timely reporting to support month-end close and statutory compliance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team-lead role
  • Licensed CPA preferred. Other finance certifications (CFA, CMA) are an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems (Navision, JDE or similar) and accounting dashboards
  • Exposure to the power generation / electricity industry is an advantage
Key responsibilities
  • Review, validate, and record trade payables and other financial obligations in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Ensure timely processing of supplier invoices and payments within agreed KPIs
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and with counterparties; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Verify correct input VAT and withholding tax treatment and coordinate with Tax & Compliance team
  • Prepare, review, and submit account schedules and analyses for financial reporting and month-end close
  • Enforce supplier/contractor account management policies and internal controls; recommend process improvements
  • Work with internal and external auditors to address audit findings and implement corrective actions
  • Provide people management: coach, train, assign work, evaluate performance, and support development of direct reports
  • Support department planning, monitor team performance against targets, and contribute to policy or system enhancements (ERP/dashboard improvements)
  • Monitor compliance to EHS and regulatory requirements relevant to the function

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and control mindset
  • Solid understanding of VAT, withholding taxes, and statutory reporting
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective people management and coaching capability
  • Good communication and stakeholder management with vendors, auditors, regulators, and internal teams
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems
