Database Solutions Engineer

Key responsibilities :

  • Implement and maintain OceanBase clusters in cloud or on-premises.
  • Perform database schema design, performance tuning, replication/fail-over setup.
  • Integrate OceanBase with applications (OLTP + analytics) and data warehousing workflows.
  • Provide user training and documentation on OceanBase usage.
  • Work with legacy database teams (MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL) to migrate workloads to OceanBase.
  • Support end-to-end database lifecycle: provisioning, configuration, monitoring, backup/disaster recovery, patching.
  • Collaborate with application dev, data warehousing, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications (example):

  • 3+ years of database systems experience (preferably relational & distributed).
  • Hands-on with at least one of: OceanBase or equivalent (CockroachDB/Spanner/large MySQL cluster).
  • Strong SQL skills, experience with database design, indexing, performance tuning.
  • Experience in migrating legacy DB systems.
  • Experience in providing user training/documentation.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills (you have leadership + UAT + process flow experience).
  • Preferred: Exposure to cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization, infrastructure as code.
