I. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Formulates the operational plan for the Radiology Department.
- Monitors the implementation of the hospital and Rad Tech policies and procedures.
- Plans, assigns, supervises and reviews work of staff involved in Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scan and other X-Ray services
- Supervises as well as performs diagnostic imaging studies under the direction/supervision of a Radiologist
- Ensures that all procedures are conducted in a safe manner, i.e., venipuncture, contrast administration, and invasive procedures.
- Establishes priorities for evaluation or research development and monitors progress; assists in compilation of statistical data for departmental evaluation purposes.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information
- Counterchecks plans for patient care and sees to it that they are properly implemented.
- Coordinates with the staff for the requisition of supplies needed to operate the unit and prepares purchase requisition form of supply
- Recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction to the department head.
- Conducts regular inspection of records, stocks, supplies and equipment to determine and ensure completeness.
- Prepares monthly income report and monthly inventory of supply of the unit
- Ensures preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment from the suppliers
- Assesses the quality of the images produced
- Coordinates and supervises the implementation of doctor's requests before, during and after each procedure
- Coordinates requests for radiologic services
- Prepares monthly census and analysis of the departments
- Prepares annual budget and target
- Prepares benchmarking and cost analysis of radiologic procedures
- Assists in the development of administrative and operational policies, procedures and regulations.
- Coordinates activities with departmental staff to assure maximum effect, minimize duplication and enhance better utilization of resources.
- Handles immediate concerns and complaints of doctors, patients and other customers
- Takes lead role in the provision of adequate and safe environment for patients and the personnel
- Makes rounds or inspects work area for cleanliness, safety, comfort and provide assistance when necessary
- Makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline and promotions of subordinates
- Authorizes leaves and overtimes
- Evaluates and rates employee performance.
- Monitors staff performance to ensure that the highest level of care with the least amount of radiation exposure is being administered to patients.
- Assists in the development of in-service training for Rad Tech Staff.
- Prepares reports regarding insubordination, patient complaint or any incident and submits it to the department head
- Plans monthly schedule and work assignments of staff which include weekly rotation to the different tasks at the department and rest days.
- Orients newly hired staffs
- Performs duties of radiologic technologist staff as needed
- Subject to "on Call" as the need arises
- Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time
