I. JOB OBJECTIVES:
The Radiologic Technologist provides accurate and reliable diagnostic services by operating ultrasound, CT scan, and
radiographic equipment in a safe and proficient manner to obtain images that aid in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of
diseases. This role requires proficiency in multiple imaging technologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
II. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Interaction
● Assists, registers, and verifies patient information for all imaging procedures (ultrasound, CT scan, and X-ray).
● Explains procedures, reviews patients' medical histories, and ensures that consent is obtained.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
● Operates ultrasound, CT scan, and radiographic equipment to capture quality diagnostic images.
● Positions and prepares patients for procedures, adjusting equipment settings for optimal results.
● Conducts equipment warm-up,calibration, and safety checks regularly.
● Cleans,maintains, and recommends repair or replacement of defective equipment.
- Image Processing and Reporting
● SendsimagestotheRadiologist for reading and interpretation.
● Preparesandsubmits reports while maintaining patient confidentiality.
● AssistsRadiologists in interpreting and assessing results where necessary.
- Safety and Health Compliance
● Participates in safety training and adheres to OSH-related protocols.
● Utilizes safety devices and safeguards provided for worker and patient protection.
● Reports any potential work hazards to supervisors.
- Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties
● Monitors inventory and requests replenishment of medical instruments and office supplies.
● Prepares reports on all patients seen, ensuring timely submission and accurate documentation.
● Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
- General Tasks:
● Participate in capacity-building activities, including safety drills and health-related programs.
● Accomplish departmental goals by performing additional duties as required.
III. GENERAL COMPETENCIES
● Proficient in basic computer operations, including Microsoft Office.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
● Detail-oriented and result-focused.
IV. TECHNICAL SKILLS
● Comprehensive knowledge of ultrasound, CT scan, and radiology procedures.
● Operation and management of diagnostic imaging equipment.
● Image evaluation and assessment.
● Knowledgeofdatabasesystems for maintaining patient records.
