Inventor Engineer

A growing industrial engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in Autodesk Inventor to support custom mechanical layout projects. This role is ideal for experienced CAD professionals with a background in designing conveyor systems, packaging lines, and warehouse automation equipment.
The engineer will collaborate directly with a U.S.-based team (Eastern and Mountain Time zones).
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D mechanical assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Design and modify parametric parts for custom conveyor layouts and automated packaging equipment
- Collaborate with in-house engineering team to ensure mechanical integrity and design compliance
- Support occasional 2D updates or conversions using AutoCAD (minimal use)
- Deliver models and drawings suitable for manufacturing and internal review
- Work independently with minimal oversight after initial onboarding
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Autodesk Inventor: 4+ years of hands-on professional experience in industrial mechanical design
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing principles
- Proven experience designing conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or similar industrial layouts
Nice to Have
- Experience with AutoCAD (2D drafting only)
- Familiarity with Autodesk Vault or similar CAD data management tools
- Prior experience in packaging, food & beverage, or logistics engineering
Work Setup
- Start Date: Flexible
- Shift Overlap: Preferred overlap with U.S. Eastern Time (minimum 2–3 hours)
Required Skills

- AutoCAD: 1–2 years (nice to have)
- Autodesk Vault: 1 year (nice to have)
