Accounting Head

Ensures that financial accounts are professionally managed, profit and cash commitment are delivered, through controlling expenditures within the agreed budget.

Plans, organize and direct activities related to activities dealing with financial reporting and accounting, purchasing, cash management, business licensing, collection, investments and debt management.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

a. Oversee the preparation of feasibility study and financial plan for new business prospects

b. Oversee the preparation of business outlook for incoming calendar year preparatory to business

planning.

c. Oversee the preparation of the master budget and operational targets for the incoming calendar year.

Investment and Asset Accounting

a. Oversee accounting of the investment fund.

b. Oversee the capitalization of the construction-in-progress account and other asset acquisitions.

c. Oversee the correct recording and accounting of the asset related activities including movements,

retirements, or sale.

d. Oversee the year-end physical inventory and valuation of property and equipment.

e. Oversee the periodic depreciation allocation and recording.

Financial Processing

a. Monitor daily financial transactions and oversee correct recording and processing of the transactions

including sales, receivables, inventory, payables, payroll, and cash.

b. Ensure that financial transactions flow consistent with the existing policies and procedures of the

company.

c. Ensure the organized archiving of the financial documents up to the past five (5) calendar years.

d. Ensure that reconciling accounts (inter-store accounts) tallies on a weekly basis.

e. Oversee the liquidation process of terminated business processes including realization of assets,

settlement of payables, return of surpluses to stockholders or funding of deficiencies, and the closure of

the accounting books.

f. Effectively Identify redundant or no- value adding activities and recommend process enhancements to

improve efficiency level.

g. Lead in coordinating with business partners, vendors or clients, on matters involving accounting or as

the Finance Head may delegate.

Financial Reporting

a. Perform month-end /year-end accounting procedures in the ERP system including rerun, carry-over of

balances, closing of the reconciling accounts, review of the COGS computation.

b. Oversee the preparation of the Flash PNL and the finalization Profit and Loss Report.

c. Oversee the preparation of the monthly Cash Flow Report and Bank Reconciliation

d. Oversee the preparation of the quarterly Balance Sheet Report

e. Lead in consolidation of the Semi-Annual and Annual Financial Statements.

f. Oversee the conduct of business review for each business unit.

g. Oversee in the preparation and submission of the special management reports or analysis required by

the Owners.

Financial Advising

a. Oversee preparation of financial evaluation/analysis (e.g. cost benefit, comparative analysis, variance

analysis, COGS analysis) of proposed projects or business activities.

b. Oversee preparation of high-level financial analysis targeted on enhancement of profitability, financial

position, and business value of the business.

c. Lead in cost saving measure projects of the accounting department for the area of scope.

d. Prepare all other financial reports required by the Top management.

Internal Control

a. Oversee 100% compliance to the financial policies and coordinate with the Audit and other

departments to address or curb deviations.

b. Continuously assess the internal control environment by monitoring the effectiveness of internal

control policies and procedures; Analyze and recommend to the owners enhancements.

Compliances

a. Lead in incorporation and all registration requirements of the new business units

b. Ensure the business units maintain high degree of compliance to all existing rules and regulations of

the government and its agencies.

c. Oversee compliance to the reportorial, filing, and remittance requirements of the government

agencies like SSS, PHIC, HDMF, BIR, SEC and other Local Government.

d. Oversee the preparation of the Tax Returns

e. Maintain books of accounts and all other records required by the government.

f. Oversee termination processes for discontinued business units.

g. Advise Finance Head or top management on tax implications and on effective tax regulation

measures.

h. Coordinate with BIR Examiners to settle LOA, LN, PAN and other BIR related notices.

Managerial Accounting

a. Address cost accounting requirements of the business units such as standard costing, product pricing,

cost allocation processes.

b. Address managerial accounting requirements of the business units such as differential costing,

forecasting, and consolidations.

Coordination

a. Coordinate with the Legal Firms on accounting matters

b. Coordinate with the Audit Firm on accounting matters

c. Coordinate with the Stakeholders or their representative on accounting matters.

Administration

a. Oversee the hiring and training of subordinates

b. Monitor, evaluate and coach staff

c. Ensure compliance of staff to company rules and regulations

d. Address any concerns pertaining to manpower

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Strong communication skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft applications and NetSuite
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy; CPA is a PLUS
• With at least 5 years' experience as Accounting Manager in an FMCG industry
