Job Description

  • Responsible for creating photo-realistic objects such as props, products, environments, scenes, etc; for the overall look and feel of a rendered, computer-generated image or animation based upon creative direction from the client or designated Director; for checking creative quality; for providing technical assistance to the team when needed; and responsible for managing the team's production pipeline

Duties and Functions:

  • Create precise models of customer products within the agreed time frame, based on technical drawings or the actual products
  • Create Photorealistic renders
  • Optimize digital files before sending them to the client for review
  • Strong understanding of how to accentuate the form of the products using lights and shadows
  • Understanding UV sets and maps
  • Perform daily tasks while following 2D & 3D CGI workflows & processes
  • Re-topology raw 3D models
  • Create materials and textures, and set up lights to produce photorealistic or stylized materials/shaders
  • Provide technical assistance to the team when needed
  • Serve as the team's Creative QC
  • Able to manage the team's production pipeline

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Art/Design/Creative Multimedia or equivalent.
  • High proficiency in Autodesk Maya
  • High proficiency in V-Ray lights and materials/shader
  • Extensive knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 or above
  • Demonstrate a breadth of competence in 3D forms, from mechanical design to organic objects, from photo-real to stylize
  • Capable of creating any consumer product in 3D software which involves hard-surface and organic modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing;
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals and basic principles of colors, lights, and shades
  • Understanding of a 3D production pipeline
  • A solid sense of three-dimensional design and attention to detail in organic and mechanical surfaces
  • Knowledge of how a well-modeled object will react to light and reflection in a realistic and appealing way
  • Knowledge and fluency in other lighting software and processes
  • Texture painting ability is a plus
  • Solid art background a plus
  • Beneficial knowledge of Esko, ArtiosCAD, XML file formats, Sculpting, and 3DS Max
