Modelling Manager

The Modelling and Data Science Manager will be managing the Modelling team under the Data Science and Analytics Unit of Business and Strategy Department. He/she will be mainly responsible in the development, calibration and monitoring of all scorecard and models used by CIMBPH Business and Strategy Group. Gather, explore and analyse data to develop models and scorecards that will support other business units in their daily functions
ii. Model validation and deployment of validated models
iii. Model monitoring to measure the effectiveness of existing models
iv. Model recalibration to ensure that the models are aligned to the latest population and data distribution
v. Lead the Data Science and Modelling team to create models through advanced analytics, AI and machine learning techniques
vi. Train other team members and establish a strong back up system to ensure Business Continuity
vii. Drive data driven recommendations to help the bank achieve it's strategic goals
viii. Deployment of new versions of models, and continuous updates of existing models in accordance to data updates/changes and to align to the growing CIMB portfolio
ix. Recommend process improvements that will help Data Science and Analytics team deliver tasks more efficiently and timely
x. Perform and deliver tasks that will bring positive impact to the departmental and country KPI's
xi. Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time
xii. Management :
1. Supports the CEO and senior stakeholders to achieve CIMB's overall business and
strategic objectives.
2. Responsible for creating the department/unit/team's vision, culture and performance
standards as well as overseeing its adoption in all levels of the department/unit/team.
3. Builds teams with a shared purpose - attracting, developing, engaging and retaining
employees allowing them to realize their full potential and the organization to meet its current business needs and prepare for future needs.
4. Role models and drives activities to encourage and build the desired organizational culture, values and reputation in CIMB and with all employees, customers and regulatory/official agencies.
5. Leads the team in delivering high quality service within a culture of customer service and
continuous improvement.
6. Ensures suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress of the business and employees.
7. Establishes KPIs and reviews overall performance against targets, assesses effectiveness of strategies and makes necessary adjustments as needed.8. Builds and sustains capabilities to achieve both people and organization objectives.
9. Ensures leadership and business continuity in all key/critical positions in the organization by actively developing identified potential successors.
10. Advocates a positive team environment through teamwork, coaching and mentoring.
Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree relevant to the job
MBA a plus
Professional Certification & Licenses - Not a must
Work Experience
Experience in model development, calibration, validation and monitoring
Knowledge Areas
Excellent quantitative skills with background in credit strategy, overall credit cycle and business metrics.
Competencies/Skills
Programming skills (R, Phyton, Sql, SAS), MS Office, Powerpoint, Power BI, Qlik, other statistical or reporting tools, Machine Learning, AI, Model development and calibration
