Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The Actuarial Manager for Reporting will:

· Perform measurement of insurance provisions for financial statements

· Analyze the profitability of new and in-force business

· Conduct experience investigations to support assumption-setting

· Preparing analytical summaries regularly on the business for management information

· Performance and financial reporting

Other Responsibilities:

Measurement of Insurance Provision:

  • Preparation of valuation results, summary insurance provisions for recording in financial statements.
  • Production and handling of accountabilities and recoverables on reinsurance ceded on the company's business.

Analysis of Profitability:

  • Preparation of profitability analyses on new as well as in-force business

Control Cycle

  • Preparation of experience analyses and statistical studies to help the company optimize key KPI.
  • Formulation of assumptions appropriate for future experience.
  • Monitor the various regular sources of indicators of actual experience versus assumptions
  • Work with other departments in implementing operational actions identified through statistical studies

Modelling:

· Code and test prophet models including identifying and resolving model inefficiencies

· Ensure that product design and features are reflected in product cash flows

· Develop model and process documentation

Capital Monitoring:

· Calculation of RBC 2 and stressed RBC2 identifying drivers of change

· Optimize the capital of the company by assessing the impact on RBC of several business strategy

Provide liability cashflow projection and analysis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Mathematics/Statistics or related courses
  • Associate or near associate

Experience:

  • With at least two (4) years' experience in an actuarial or in a Risk Management department of a life insurance company or similar experience.
  • Preferably with experience with Prophet or other actuarial software
