We are seeking a Data Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data systems that handle data collection, storage, and processing (both batch and real-time). The role requires strong technical expertise in databases, scripting, and programming, as well as a passion for turning raw data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will be driven by problem-solving, data optimization, and building reliable, interconnected data systems aligned with business needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesOptimise Solution Performance

  • Develop tools to improve data flows between internal and external systems and the data warehouse.
  • Test and configure data systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Automate data collection, processing, and reporting workflows.
  • Support the integration of new data systems with existing infrastructure.

Identify Business Needs

  • Translate business requirements into technical system requirements.
  • Identify and implement suitable data structures that ensure data availability, accessibility, and integrity.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data processing and database management.

Build and Maintain Data Pipelines

  • Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data in real-time and batch processing.
  • Consolidate and create data storage solutions for retrieval and analysis.
  • Develop backup and data archiving systems to ensure business continuity.
  • Implement monitoring, error-handling, and logging for data pipelines.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with privacy measures.
  • Test and validate pipelines for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts for new data solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, data warehousing, and big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with large datasets across multiple platforms.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term

Contract length: 18 months

Pay: Up to Php50,000.00 per month
