Position Summary
Meritage Hospitality Group is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to help process bi-weekly payroll across a large, multi-unit workforce. The successful candidate will manage payroll operations, review tip reports, support employee inquiries, and ensure accurate data management across HRIS and payroll systems. Experience with Workday is essential, and familiarity with restaurant BOH systems such as Xenial, Toast, and Corrigo is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for assigned employee groups using Workday.
Review and reconcile tip reports from restaurant BOH systems (e.g., Xenial, Toast).
Respond promptly and professionally to payroll questions from employees and managers.
Assist with year-end processing of W-2 statements and related tax documents.
Maintain digital records of payroll transactions and employee files.
Perform employment verifications for current and former employees.
Enter and update employee information in the HRIS system (Workday).
Assist with compliance audits and payroll-related reporting as required.
Generate ad hoc reports as needed by the finance or HR teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, operations, and restaurant teams.

Requirements:
2+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume or multi-location environment.
Proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS/payroll platforms is a plus.
Experience with restaurant systems such as Xenial, Toast, and Corrigo, or other POS/BOH systems, is a plus.
Knowledge of tip handling and payroll compliance in the hospitality/restaurant sector.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
Experience generating reports in Excel and other reporting tools.
