Litigation lawyer

Key Responsibilities

Candidates must have mid-level associate experience to be considered for this position.

• Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

• Conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for testimony in judicial proceedings.

• Liaise professionally with opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients to ensure seamless case progression.

• Adhere strictly to the firm's established procedures, ethical standards, and operational protocols.

• Manage all facets of assigned cases, ensuring punctual and effective representation in court.

• Formulate strategic case plans and provide well-reasoned recommendations based on comprehensive case evaluations.

• Perform in-depth legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by senior attorneys or partners to support the firm's objectives.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the Philippine Bar, in good standing.

• A minimum of six (6) years of litigation experience at a reputable law firm.

• Superior oral and written communication skills, with an exemplary command of the English language.

• Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently while maintaining exceptional standards of quality and efficiency.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret intricate legal issues and apply relevant statutes and precedents.

• Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) and Microsoft Office Suite.

CORPORATE LAWYER

As a Corporate Lawyer specialising in Complex Contracts and Transactions, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on intricate deals, ensuring seamless execution of M&A activities, assisting energy clients on contractual and regulatory matters, and navigating regulatory landscapes, in general. This is an opportunity to work on challenging, high-value projects that shape the business landscape in the Philippines and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including merger agreements, acquisition documents, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.

• Conduct due diligence for M&A transactions, identifying risks and opportunities.

• Provide strategic legal advice on energy matters, deal structuring, compliance, and post-transaction integration.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including partners, associates, and external stakeholders, to deliver client-focused solutions.

• Stay abreast of evolving laws and regulations in energy, corporate and transactional law.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution.

• Admitted to the Philippine Bar in good standing.

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in energy, M&A, deal work, and complex contracts, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.

• Strong understanding of Philippine energy, corporate laws, securities regulations, and international transaction practices.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
