Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall operation, management, and success of the restaurant. This includes overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high food quality standards, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The GM acts as the leader of the restaurant team and ensures a positive, productive, and profitable working environment.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:
- Supervise all aspects of restaurant operations, including opening, closing, food prep, service, and cleanliness.
- Monitor dining and kitchen areas to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff.
- Create staff schedules and manage shift coverage.
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to maintain high performance and service standards.
Customer Service:
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience through quality service, food, and ambiance.
- Handle customer complaints or feedback promptly and professionally.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address areas for improvement.
Financial Management:
- Monitor daily sales and expenses; prepare and analyze financial reports.
- Manage budgets, cost control, and inventory.
- Ensure proper cash handling and deposit procedures.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and enforce cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ensure staff are trained in food safety and proper handling procedures.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Implement marketing strategies and local promotions to drive traffic and sales.
- Collaborate with marketing or social media teams on campaigns or seasonal events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 1 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety regulations, and customer service practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory software, and MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
