Job Summary:

The Maintenance Advisor serves as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. Responsible for advising customers on required maintenance and repair services, ensuring proper documentation, coordinating with technicians, and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the service process.


Key Responsibilities:

Customer Handling:

  • Greet and assist customers in a professional manner.
  • Discuss vehicle concerns, maintenance schedules, and service options.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates, explain service details, and obtain customer approval.
  • Communicate updates on job progress, additional findings, and completion time.

Service Coordination:

  • Create and manage job orders based on customer concerns and technician recommendations.
  • Coordinate with workshop technicians for inspection, diagnostics, and repair timelines.
  • Ensure all required parts and materials are available before starting the job.
  • Review completed work orders for accuracy before vehicle release.

Quality and Documentation:

  • Verify that all services performed meet company standards and manufacturer requirements.
  • Maintain proper records of services rendered, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Prepare reports and ensure compliance with company policies and warranty processes.

Customer Satisfaction & Retention:

  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction post-service.
  • Handle complaints and resolve issues in coordination with the Service Manager.
  • Promote preventive maintenance and service packages to encourage repeat business.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or vocational course in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience as Service Advisor, Maintenance Advisor, or similar role in the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, maintenance procedures, and repair processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and dealership management systems (DMS).
