Role Description

The part-time Engineering Mathematics faculty member is primarily responsible for delivering Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) in assigned math and math-related engineering courses while ensuring alignment with program outcomes and industry expectations. Duties include preparing OBE-based course materials within the Learning Management System, delivering classroom lectures and problem-solving sessions, assessing student performance, and integrating real-world engineering applications to strengthen conceptual understanding.

Although part-time faculty instructors are not required to engage in research, they are encouraged to participate, especially in studies related to mathematics education, engineering computations, modeling, or data analysis, where their expertise can significantly contribute.

This role is ideal for mathematics and engineering professionals who wish to contribute to the academic development of future engineers while maintaining active engagement in their field.

The applicant must be willing to commit to teaching for at least one full semester.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Attainment: Master's Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or any related field (preferred).
  • Industry Experience: At least 1–3 years of experience in teaching mathematics or applying mathematical analysis in engineering practice.analysis, cloud computing, IT project management or other related work.
  • Mentorship Ability: Strong background in guiding students through complex problem-solving, computations, mathematical modeling, and preparation for board examinations.
  • Professional Credentials: Licensed Engineer (for engineering graduates) is a plus. Relevant certifications in Mathematics Education or engineering-related software tools (MATLAB, GeoGebra, Python, etc.) are an advantage.
  • Systems Compliance: Proficient in the use of web-based applications including email, School Information Systems, and LMS platforms (experience with Moodle is a plus).
