THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a leading technology company powering global communication through innovative software and telecom solutions. With a strong presence across the Asia-Pacific region, they are known for delivering cutting-edge communication platforms that help businesses connect, grow, and thrive.

They are now seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join their Manila-based team. In this role, you'll play a key role throughout the full development lifecycle driving test automation, ensuring product quality, and contributing to stable, high-confidence releases for global clients.

ASW Global operates on a Hybrid model. You will be required to report onsite three times a week, and two times WFH with a regular shift schedule of 6AM to 3PM Manila time to align with AU business hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Foster a high-performance QA team through collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
• Design, develop, and maintain stable, well-architected test automation code that supports CI/CD pipelines and scalable testing.
• Participate early in the software development lifecycle—story refinement, requirements analysis, and solution design—to ensure testability and quality.
• Coordinate and report QA progress within assigned streams, ensuring transparency, timely test execution, and alignment with project goals.
• Execute functional and regression testing to validate features, enhancements, and fixes, ensuring product stability and high quality.
• Automate repetitive or manual testing tasks to improve coverage, efficiency, and delivery speed.
• Identify, document, and report defects, collaborating with developers for resolution and supporting root cause analysis in non-prod and prod environments.
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams—including developers, product owners, and designers—to enhance quality and user experience.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test frameworks, enforce automation best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and comply with all health, safety, and incident reporting policies to promote a responsible work environment.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 4 years' strong technical and test automation background, with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Proficient in Selenium and at least one programming language such as Java (8–11), Python, JavaScript, Go, or Ruby.
• Experience automating UI and API testing, and familiarity with tools such as Postman, Cucumber, or RestAssured.
• Experience using GitLab, Jenkins, AWS, or other CI/CD tools to integrate and run automated test suites.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and working experience with Linux environments.
• Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving automation issues in both non-production and production systems.
• High attention to detail with a passion for building maintainable and scalable automation suites.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with developers and cross-functional teams.
• Proactive, analytical, and continuously improving technical skillsets; willing to mentor junior team members.
